Webster Drilling & Exploration was contracted by Oil Search Ltd PNG to carry out an extensive drilling and loading programme for the P’nyang 2D seismic survey in Western Province, Papua New Guinea. The project required drilling 1,524 shot holes across challenging limestone terrain in one of PNG’s most remote exploration areas.
Operating from Sawmill Flats Camp, 15 minutes from Tabubil, the project was executed in two phases to accommodate seasonal weather conditions. Phase one (April–May 2013) completed 1,209 holes across four lines, while phase two (September 2013) added a further 315 holes on the fifth line.
Webster Drilling’s helicopter-supported operations and specialised air-hammer drilling techniques successfully penetrated the challenging limestone formations, delivering exceptional production rates in extremely difficult terrain.
