Vanuatu Inter-Island Shipping Project (VISSP)
Completed 2019/2020. Extensive marine and onshore geotechnical investigation across the Vanuatu island chain for wharf infrastructure development. 30 geotechnical boreholes including 6 shallow marine locations (<25m depth) spread across 3 islands over 270km. Utilised local landing barge as floating drilling platform, with grouted PVC installations for geophysical logging. Project completed within schedule and budget despite challenging remote marine conditions.
Port of Pohnpei - Micronesia
Mobilisation of Geotechnical equipment and modification of a vessel of opportunity located on the island for Geotechnical drilling. Several onshore and offshore boreholes completed over 4 weeks work using. Completed 2023.
Offshore Democratic Republic of the Congo
Marine geotechnical work for jack-up oil rig leg penetration analysis and foundation stability of existing offshore oil field infrastructure. HPP-150M rigs, 80 boreholes, core, push tubes and SPTs to 85m, installing casing to conduct CPT push. Project completed 2014.
Peurto de Nacala - Mozambique
Marine geotechnical work for Port Nacala extensions and loadout terminals. Involving HPP-150M geotechnical drilling rigs retrieving core, push tubes and SPTs. 80 boreholes to depths of 60m with a combination of floating barges, Jack-up rigs and land based boreholes. Completed 2010 - 2011.
