Our senior management team is composed of experienced individuals who have accrued many years of experience, specialising in the roles of driller, rig manager, rig mechanic and electrician, rig systems compliance expert, cementer, and HSE system developer and auditor. This broad range of skills and experience serves us well in managing the ever-changing environment of the energy drilling sector.

Webster Drilling owns and operates the NOVA-1, a 500 klbs rapid-mobility Super Single drilling rig package, which has built a solid reputation for reliability and performance, drilling wells up to 4,300 m deep across more than 48 well programmes in New Zealand since 2011.

In addition, Webster Drilling has provided crewing and rig maintenance services for operators including the “Big Ben” BENTEC 450-ton rig, owned by Todd Energy in New Zealand, and the Coral Sea rig for Austral Pacific in PNG. This work has included extended-reach drilling to approximately 7,100 m in high-angle trajectories across Taranaki’s offshore and onshore fields.

WDE and NOVA-1 maintain a WorkSafe High Hazards Unit-approved, unconditional safety case for oil & gas operations in New Zealand. Our ongoing commitment to this safety case ensures that our operations meet a significantly higher organisational safety threshold than many other geothermal drilling packages in New Zealand and abroad.
