Webster Drilling and its subsidiary Niugini Drilling Services, have been specialising in seismic drilling since 1984. In that time seismic programmes have been undertaken in New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, Brunei, India, Oman, Indonesia and Antarctica.
Since 1997 much of the seismic exploration in Papua New Guinea has been in very rugged karst and jungle terrain which necessitates the use of air drilling with custom built helicopter/people portable rigs and compressors.
